Stay away from Visiosonic!I was recently in the market for a DJ software package so I could transition into MP3 dj-ing. I thought PCDJ was the best software on the market, clearly I was wrong. When the software was functioning (rarely), the features that first attracted me to it worked fine. Then, things went downhill from there. First off, PCDJ has a sound dropping issue. Whenever one would maximize or minimize a window, the sound would stutter or skip, producing a horrendous noise. Visiosonic has addressed the issue, but has yet to produce a fix. It also turns out Visiosonic has a ridiculous licensing/product activation system that will lock you out of the application by changing even the slightest settings to your system's hardware (BIOS update or a video card driver update for example). I paid $300 for PCDJ FX and now I can't use it. Tech support was an absolute joke; it took them one week to respond to my inquiry and finally unlocked my software. After the same thing happened again about a month later, I decided to forget about PCDJ all together. Think twice before purchasing any Visiosonic product, it's just not worth the money. Sadly enough, the application lockout happened right before one of my DJ jobs, a very embarrassing situation indeed. Look at other software packages (heck, even iTunes is better than this) before stooping to this.
Too Bad - I wanted to like thisUnfortunately, I have to agree with the reviewer below. The copy protection/installation scheme is a MAJOR pain. I had a problem after the install (I changed my windows config) and everything stopped working. Calls were ignored, emails not answered - not the greatest service. I did back up again - once I was contacted the service guys were great.
My computer was just stolen and even though I have an installation disc, I can't install it to my new computer, because I used my limit on my first computer. Now as I'm deciding to buy, I am hesitating to get this again. It was just too much trouble. In addition to the updating/installation hassles, I found that sometimes the recordcase would freeze, and sound skips would occur.
I do like the FX record case, the autoplay function works great and it was so handy to control everything with the DAC2. The Karaoke add-inn they have separately was decent, but not enough to convince me.
I hate to say it, but even though I'm used to it, I can't get myself to buy it. I'd pay double for anything like it without all the hassles.
