A Sound Option Should You ChooseI got a set of these about 3 months ago. I noted some complained as to the condition due to the Headphones being "Remanufactured". I for one could not tell them from new. I bought them based on the Sennheiser reputation and like them a lot, however, I did not compare them to other headphone. I just did not understand they had to be "tuned" in a'la radio and as I did not read the directions (guy)it took me five or ten minutes to figure out. They are comfortable, I can really hear with them anywhere on the main floor of the house although I had no real need to test the limits. I really got them in case I choose to watch movies after my wife has gone to bed. The "Home Theater" while not directly under our bedroom is close enough to be bothered should the sound (sub-woofer) be cranked a bit. I have not used it a ton of times but enough to find the sound very good and the headphones comfortable to wear for an entire movie. They are big but light and I find them comfortable. The other big bonus comes in when my nephew spends the night, as he will watch movies ALL night on the big screen and both my wife and I can sleep.
AWESOME HEADPHONE FOR AN AWESOME PRICE!I bought my SENNHEISER RS 110 from Bestbuy for $79.99. It was all worth it for the price. This headphone is simply amazing! I tried both Sony and RCA models before settling for a SENNHEISER and both Sony and RCA doesnt even come close to the performance of the RS 110. The sound reproduction is very distinct, no "very highs" or "very lows" on the frequency range. Just right. The range is just about right for the indicated 300 feet. It is light enough to be worn for extended periods of time and the fit is very comfortable. You dont feel that "tightness" even after wearing it for several hours. In my point of view, the sound reproduction even comes close to the BOSE noise cancelling headphones except that the SENNHEISER doesnt cancel the noise. An upgraded model, the RS 120, can be recharged by placing the headset on the transmitter--this (the recharging feature) however is the only difference. Performance is solid both ways. After making extensive evaluation on my RS 110, the only feature I could think they can add to this model is a light indicator on the main headphone unit to "visually" see if it is turned on without actually looking at the power switch. Overall, the headphone is an excellent buy compared to other models in the same price range. I highly recommend this entry level wireless headphone from SENNHEISER if you're in the market looking for one.
Bad reviewThe headphones were not refurbished at all. The sounds comes in off & on as if there is a short in the wiring. I will throw them in the trash and never buy anything "refurbished" again.
Beware of Re-manufactured BargainsI recently purchased the Sennheiser RS-110 Wireless Headphones only to find it still needed re-manufacturing when I received it. It seems the power plug in the base unit was malfunctioning and would not power it up. Suggest that you be prepared for such a failure if you purchase this item.
The concept of the unit seemed great and I was very disappointed not to be able to experience how the unit might work.
Cautious ExpectationThis is the first time I've ever been motivated to write a customer review for something.
If you're anything like me, you read the testimonials to help justify a decision you've already made; once I got my eye on these headphones, I was prone to ignore peoples' warnings about sound quality on all but the priciest wireless headphones.
What I've discovered upon tearing open the package this morning is that, after spending months accruing Monster Cables, a quality receiver, and all the right gadgets to yield a clean, crisp musical signal, I'm volleying it up like a clay pigeon every time I turn on the wireless set. 900 mhz is the bandwidth inhabited by cheaper cordless phones and a dizzying array of other electronic devices; if you live in Boston -- I kid you not -- turn off the transmitter and you'll get a clear feed of NPR's local Arts & Culture station... turn it back on and you'll hear your music again, but you'll be able to tell that the signal is exhausted by all the interference it's trying to crowd out.
So if you just want these to keep a beat drumming while you're working around the house, they'll do nicely -- although you will find yourself spinning the fine-tune dial as you move from room to room. But beware of overused epithets like "audiophile-quality": I'm an audiophile, to the degree that my genteel poverty permits, and these things are driving me up the wall. If you're the type who likes to fiddle with the knobs on your stereo in search of the 'right' sound, you really will be disappointed: for my $50, I've bought the acoustic equivalent of the headphones they pass out for long flights on American Airlines -- albeit with the convenience of limited mobility.
Clear sound along way awayI am able to walk one block away and still hear the radio. I also notice that when I turn the transmitter off that it it picks up phone conversations, and some computer sounds.
Couldn't be more pleasedAt first I was a little leary considering the comments about reception; I live in an apartment in a rather densely populated area of San Diego. But I had no trouble getting a consistent signal. The headset is very comfortable - too sometimes; I've fallen asleep w/ them on. And although it's a refurbish, it looks like brand new. Very good value.
Dont Buy BEWAREPros:
Nice shape and design.
Cons:
Not functioning at all, static distortion all the time. left side no sound at all.
ear muffs too tightalthough the sound is very good and the setup simple, the ear muffs apply much too much pressure on the ear itself. The headphones were uncomfortable from the moment I put them on. You can imagine how they felt after wearing them for a one hour program. Adjusting the scalp extension did not help.I'm ready to return them
EarphonesI needed a wireless earphone for watching tv at night not wanting to disturb anyone sleeping. The phones are perfect, the volume on the tv is turned off and I can adjust the phone volume for my ears only - if I want to go to another part of the house - I do not miss hearing the tv - has great range - glad I bought them.
