The Aura Conservatorium recorders are made in Utrecht, Holland by the same people who make the Coolsma Solo instruments. These attractive baroque-design recorders have distinctive turnings and are hand voiced and tuned. All Conservatoriums have curved windways for a more focused and colorful sound, and thumb bushings to prevent wear on the thumb hole. They are designed for the more advanced player and can be used for solo work, as well as ensemble playing.

The basses in this series include a straight neck and a bent neck and are direct-blow. No bocal is used. Conservatorium recorders carry a two-year warranty.
