Epiphone has been building quality guitars since 1910 and has based the beautiful Les Paul Classic Quilt Top on one of the most famous guitar designs of all time -- the Gibson Les Paul. This guitar, authorized by Gibson, has been painstakingly built 100% to their specs. The mahogany neck, mahogany and alder body, and chrome hardware contribute to the incredibly sweet, signature Les Paul tone. It features a 24-3/4"-scale set neck, 2 open-coil humbucker pickups with a volume and tone control for each, and a 1.68" nut. The fast action, nice sustain, and awesome tone make this highly playable guitar great for any type of music from punk to bluegrass. What really makes this guitar stand out however, is the flawless finish and arched, quilted maple carved top. The rosewood fretboard, with trapezoid inlays and body and neck binding, tops off this charmer. No other guitar sounds like the famous Les Paul.Reviews
Epiphone Les Paul Classic Quilt TopJust got my new quilt top and I am very impressed with the quality of an under $500.00 Paul. The red quilt top finish is superb, the neck and frets are perfect. The Grover tuners keep the strings right in tune. It plays well, much better than the early Japanese copy I used to play. The USA factory setup was quite good, but all guitars require a bit of tweaking, as did this one. I look forward to playing this guitar in our Worship Team, it will be perfect. The thing that is missing is the classic big fat transparent Les Paul knob set. Oh, well, 10 bucks on EBAY should do it. I have owned quite a few guitars in my time, this is one of the best.
