Amazing Looks and PlayabilityI bought this guitar 8 years ago as my first electric. In my opinion, Epiphone really is the way to go if you're looking for an affordable Les Paul. There is basically no difference between an Epiphone and a Gibson which is at least 3 times more expensive.
What I love the most about this guitar is the great playability. It has very low action and is easy to adjust if it isn't to your liking. This guitar also looks very expensive. I'll admit, $700 is a decent investment, but you can buy Fenders for twice as much that aren't nearly as good-looking, good-sounding, and easy to play as this guitar.
The only con I've noticed is that this isn't the best guitar for recording music (if you're into that sort of thing). It doesn't have the cleanest and brightest sound you can get. Also, the middle pickup takes some getting used to since it is in the general area of where most people do their picking.
I would recommend this guitar to just about anyone. It is great for any kind of live performances, it's really easy to play, and it looks amazing. For the price that it's offered at (I got mine for $669), you cannot go wrong with this one.
AwesomeI bought this guitar a while back now and it LOOKS awesome, really cool, it plays really well too i like to play like classisc rock and stuff like Led Zepplin, Guns n Roses and then theres stuff like Lenny Kravitz, Muse ETC and it handles them well. The only thing i was concerned about is the Treb and Rhythm Swith it was a bit wobblie..... but its ok hasnt gone wrong yet :D.
the greatest guitar everIt's awesome, It sounds perfect, It looks great...what else can I say? It is just the greatest guitar I have ever played. I've bought this guitar a couple months ago and I love it, you can played Jazz, blues, Rock n'Roll and Metal and It will sound simply perfect.
And the best part is, It is cheaper than the Gibson black Beauty...and it sounds awesome.
The Perfect GuitarThe Black Beauty by Epiphone is the single best sounding guitar I have ever played. I've gone through mounds of Gibsons and Fenders, but have settled on the Black Beauty for the rest of eternity. I'm going to be buried with this guitar. First off, it looks fantastic. The entire thing has a beautiful black finish that is accentuated with gold hardware. Everything is of high quality and it stays in tune after a serious beating. It has not one, not two, but three gold humbucker pickups, each delivering a crushing blow. You can set it at a low tone and get the best bluesy feel, or you can go a little higher and tear the walls down with a death metal tune. You can play ska or reggae, punk and even country. The guitar is that versatile. It is a good sized, heavy, guitar. This is one you can feel when you're playing it and when you strike that first power chord with the volume and distortion cranked, the vibrations resonate through you like an electrocution. It has excellent playability, there are no strange string inclines found on the fret board like other guitars I've played. The only, and only, problem with this guitar is the strange G-string, but I have seen it on EVERY Epiphone I've ever played. Billie Joe from Green Day even commented on that in regards to the Les Paul Juniors. But you can only hear the faulty string when the guitar isn't plugged into an amp. Once the guitar is plugged in it sounds like heaven. Don't waste your money on more expensive guitars. This is THE guitar to have.
