If you're left handed and looking to play bass you don't have a lot running for you. This is the only lefty starter kit I found practically anywhere, so this is the way to go.

You get everything, including bass, amp, cord, padded case, tuner and strap for a fairly good price. The bass alone is $100 and the amp is $70. It's only a 15 watt amp but enough to get you going. Pack in everything else and you end up paying a pretty good price. I paid $191.

Don't expect the finest quality items when buying a starter like this. It's meant to be enough to get you started to play.

Bass: It sounds okay on and off the amp, it's not very heavy.
Amp: If you like it loud, you're going to get white noise.
Tuner: nice.
Everything else: good.

Overall you get what you pay for. A starter kit is a starter kit no matter how you look at it. If you choose to get this, great! But you'll want to invest in a better guitar and amp later on.
