Product Description

The drum has played an inherent role in the lives of Native Americans for centuries, creating feelings of strength and solidarity before battle and a sense of social and spiritual harmony during gatherings of celebration. Taos drums are crafted in the tradition of the Pueblo Indians; natural materials and renewable resources are used. The drum frame is created from wood native to Northern New Mexico. This economical frame drum has a uniform resonance over the widest range of climates. The natural materials used give each drum a unique character and sound, and the two heads will most likely be different pitches.
