The Darbuka is a goblet shaped Turkish hand drum. It is a member of the Doumbek family of drums. In the Turkish style, they play a lot with the fingers. This drum has a long, narrow neck, and a much longer sustain than other types of doumbeks. ... These drums are all hand made. The aluminum darbuka (A01, A02, A03, A0310) starts with a disk of aluminum that is put on a lathe. As it spins they push on it to put it into its final shape.
