depends on your purposeThis kit is decent for the money. The cymbals stink. The heads stink. With new heads however the drums don't sound too bad. The pedal is pretty good. The hi hat stand rods threading was off so I could never really get the hi hat rod straight at the top. The throne is uncomfortable, but might be okay for a teenager. Overall though I was satisfied with my purchase because I wasn't sure if I would stick to playing the drums. If you are a serious drummer I wouldn't suggest this kit. But for someone just starting out or a child that is bigger than a junior size kit these are perfect. Great to learn the craft on. Wouldn't say they would be appropriate for gigs though.
