Great DealI was wondering if maple would make that big a difference. It does. My old birch Yamaha set was really becoming kinda dead sounding and at the current price I thought I could try these out. The 1st few songs playing them (rock) I knew I made a good decision. The bassdrum just had that punch I was missing and that adds a great "feel" to the overall kit. The snare was warm with plenty of attack.The toms sounded nice but especially the 14". Excellent quality for the money.
But.....You will need to purchase all new heads for the kit, the factory heads were barely playable. The hardware and mounting devices were a step back from my Yamaha kit, even with the floating tom mounts.
