Perfect for fusionFirst, the 16" and 18" crash cymbals that come with this set should be called crash/rides because they ride very well. In fact, the 18" has more ride characteristics than crash (although it crashes nicely).
Like all Z-series, these cymbals are somewhat dry with the subtle tones and great projection that make them ideal for electric jazz or fusion sets. The price point on the two cymbals is a great deal, made all the better with the bonus 12" splash. The splash is a cross between a crash and splash, with moderate decay qualities and a nice cutting sound.
If you are more into acoustic sets I recommend looking at the K-series cymbals Zildjian offers, but for fusion or electric these are ideal and can easily be used as crash/rides to expand their utility. They also work well as crash cymbals for louder rock.
