Fits between brushes and sticksThis specialty stick gives a brush-like sound with the added volume of a stick. It is also more responsive than brushes for cymbal work, yet produces a much lighter sound on snare work.
One interesting aspect of this "stick" is you can do press rolls in the same manner that was pioneered in the 1920s by such legends as Baby Dodds and perfected by Gene Krupa. On the other hand, you will not get the subtle brushwork of, say, Jeff Hamilton, who can be heard on Diana Krall's Live in Paris album (ASIN: B00006J9OT), or the amazing work of Ed Thigpen, but you will have a set of specialty sticks that will expand your range and versatility for your gigs.
