5 Stars for the DVds, 1 star for poor packing/damaged shipments.
I placed an order for two 100 disk spindles of this DVD media from Amazon.com. The two spindles were shipped separately (one 100 disk spindle per box). As another reviewer noted, the packing was very poor. Both boxes sent to me came from approximately 100 miles away and BOTH 100 disk spindles were damaged because of poor packing. The normal "air pillows" Amazon uses as packing material is simply not adequate for these heavy spindles. Both spindles broke open in transit (no apparent damage to the outside of the shipping boxes), and a few disks were damaged. If the packages had to travel farther to reach me, no doubt more disks would have been damaged. Amazon should pack these heavy spindles better. That being said...

The two 100 piece spindles I received were made in Taiwan and the media code checked out to be MCC 003. MCC is the actual manufacturer's name (Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.) and 003 is the Media Type ID code. MCC is well known in DVD burning circles as being one of the best manufacturers of the very best media you can buy (at any price). Verbatim states on the spindle label that some DVD recorders will be able to burn these disks at 12x. Both of my Pioneer DVD recorders (models DVR 108 & 109) can burn this media at 12x.

Verbatim can be relied upon to only put their name on top quality manufactured recordable media, and numerous manufacturers of DVD Recorders and players, recommend Verbatim brand media for use in their recorders and players for a reason. Verbatim DVD media is known for being highly compatible (playable) in most DVD players and close to flawless in quality. Many manufacturers of CD/DVD recorders recommend the use of Verbatim media for the very reasons I stated above. To be able to buy this top quality media from Amazon.com for >35 dollars per 100 (with free shipping) is simply an outstanding bargain. Hopefully Amazon will start packing these spindles properly in order to prevent damage during shipment. The inadequate packing is the only thing that mars an otherwise exceptional deal.

Anyone tested this Amazon batch yet?
Hi, has anyone received discs from this Amazon special pricing deal and determined if they're MCC-made vs CMC (or some other crackpot Taiwanese manufacturer)? It makes a HUGE difference. Thx.

BEST DVDs
I have just ordered my 4th 100 Disc Spindle of Verbatim Blank DVDs.
They are the only DVDs that I can find that work great! I have not burned a single coaster with these! I have tried several brands from Sony to TDK and the Verbatim brand is the only ones that I have found to work like they are suppose to!

These are top notch DVDs!

best for copying
works better than any other media ive used: HP, sony,fugi,phillips,memorex ( the worst) tdk, maxell

burn them... without turning back
thats right .. not even a single coaster (as many others said) ... I did have one. but that was 'coz of some other reason ... there was no problem with these discs. I have burnt about 80 of these .. no probs so far ...

Can't complain
These DVD+R came in spindle of 100, just like the pic, it arrived very fast too (2-3 days I think), great shipping Amazon! Well, I used several of them, no problem at all!

Decent quality DVDs
Low price makes it very attractive ($26.99). Speaking of quality, these are normal quality dvds - nothing super. On the other hand, nothing super is demanded from them - just to be able to hold data and/or movies, the functions that these dvds handle just perfectly. I lost about 15 of them due to whims of the "Roxio Easy Media Creator". Once I delegated my burning tasks to "Nero", I haven't lost a single dvd. I've used about 40 of them by now...

DVD'ss get 5 stars but Amazon's shipping is terrible
So I ordered the DVD's which are a really good product. However, I am furious with Amazon! When my order arrived, the DVD's were all over the box and the case was broken into several pieces. The box that it was shipped in was not even dented! So how did they break so easily, got to be the poor poor poor shipping job done by Amazon. There was hardly any packing material in the box.
I quickly complained to Amazon and they fixed the problem however, it still does not fix that I had to wait another five days until I got my DVD's! So be very careful when ordering this product from Amazon. They do a terrible job shipping the DVD-R/DVD+R's and CD-R's. I would recommend Amazon using a much smaller box and put packing peanuts in there instead. Not five or six of those little air pockets.
