Product Description
The Kramer Focus VT-111S is THE most affordable, professional electric guitar available today. With a Slim-Taper Hard Maple neck, 21-Fret Rosewood fingerboard, vintage 6-screw tremolo system and 3 single-coil pickups, you get great sound, fast action, and years of reliable performance. There is NOTHING like it! Chris Berezney of MusicGearReview writes "If you're willing to spend $300 on a guitar, consider buying a few of these. Hell, you could get 3 of them. One in each color. For the money, there's nothing better available. Nothing at least that I've seen."Reviews
Cannot be beat for the money! My favorite guitar in my humble collection. The best guitar under $150 you can buy.
Don't expect great tuners, and the tremolo's only good, but not great. And you're well advised to replace the stock strings and adjust the bridge before you play the unit for the first time.
Do expect very good sounding, hot pickups, smooth five-position pickup selection, solid electronics, and best of all, outstanding action from a beautifully finished instrument. The Kramer Focus beats cheap Squiers & Epiphone's hands down.
GAG!I will have to agree with the first reviewer this guitar does have great action. But Everything else about it sucks, espically since its a strat style guitar you can only get 2 out of 5 pickup positions without fret buzz. Save your self some time and get an ESP!
I just orderd thisI just orderd this and could someone really tell me how good this guitar is caouse iw ant to know.
P.S. Rock On The Doors are the best
I'm impressedAfter reading reviews on Amazon and a few other review sites, I wasn't sure what to expect. It took me about a year to decide to go ahead and buy a Kramer Focus.
When my guitar arrived I unpacked and examined it. It looked perfect. I saw no flaws in the finish or in the construction.
I hooked it up and began to play. The feel and action were great. Even the stock strings seemed pretty good. Maybe the strings they use vary from guitar to guitar, but these will do nicely until I'm ready to do a routine change. Usually I want to change the strings on a new guitar ASAP.
Playing this guitar is very addictive. I have a hard time putting it down once I pick it up and start to play.
There is only one negative thing I have to say about this guitar...I didn't buy it sooner. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a beautiful Candy Apple Red Kramer Focus VT111S calling my name.
My favorite Guitar. The price is amazing, for the tone and fun you get with a guitar like this. I sit all day playing it. It is a strat style guitar, and although I prefer SG types, this is a lot of fun, and out of all the 8 guitars I own, this is my favorite.
My Kramer 4 years later...I bought one of these in 2001 as my first guitar and have been playing it ever since.
For the price, there is nothing like it. But a stratocaster this guitar is not. The only real problem with this guitar is the electronics, but i'll get to that later.
The body is made of plywood, which cosmetically means nothing but it doesn't have the tone and sustain a solid wood body might have. That being said, the body on this guitar is kick-ass. It is an exact copy of the stratocaster and you can't tell the difference from the outside. The metal-flake paint is very high quality.
The neck on mine did not have a very fast feel on it, but my friend's 111s feels better, so there is some variation among these guitars.
The original strings STUNK. The first thing you do when you get the guitar is get some D'addario or some other kind of new strings.
The guitar keeps tune surprisingly well, and the overall quality of the parts on the guitar is very good, although it isn't necessarily put together very well. When I got mine, the 3 control knobs were sloppy and wobbly and had to be tightened down myself. On my friend's 111s the back plate was put on tilted.
Now the electronics. In short, they stink. You can only get about 2 out of the 5 positions on the switch to work without buzzing, and so you pretty much have 2 sound decisions: Twangy or muddy. Despite the considerable buzzing though, the sound is not that bad.
I'd strongly recommend the quad-rail pickup system from musicyo for $59.99, it sounds 10x better and you can get a pickguard in a different color. It installs in about 10 minutes, all you need is a soldering iron (or you could even do it with electrical tape if you had to).
I've got a lake placid blue model (no longer offered) with a white pickguard and quadrail pickup system. I've just bought a vintage kramer floyd rose tremolo system which i'll be installing along with a vintage kramer neck.
The beauty of this guitar is upgradability. For $85 you get a starter guitar that you can keep upgrading over the years.
the best guitar everI think that my kramer candy apple red guitar is the best! everything is perfect the strings, the sound, the shape you name it is the best guitar ever and I know guitars and i'm only ten.All my friends really like It to you should use it for advertisement. I think amazon.com is the best place to shop!
